War and the Media 5
I am watching a really interesting show on SBS about the various american wars and the media’s role in them through the years.
It’s really interesting but unfortunately it is just reinforcing my long held belief that a long time ago, while no one was looking, Hollywood managed to take over the entire country and now Americans live their entire lives in some dodgy action drama.
Right now it is describing how the toppling of Saddam’s statue was totally staged as well as how Jessica Lynch’s rescue was also bullshit. It’s scary to see how much bollocks the news stations will talk just to get the Pentagon’s ideas of what we should believe across!
PS I hate President ‘Monkey’ Bush.
