Haha funny shit
Finally got around to setting up my new dev box at work today and to quote the dude from Dude Where’s My Car, “Sweet!”.
Looking at the specs you soon begin to see a pattern emerge. A pattern of muchos goodness…
First off, it is an Athlon 64 X2 dual core. Second, it has 2GB of RAM. Thirdly, it has 2 120GB HD’s (Mirrored for redundancy)… And to top it off it has two 19 inch Samsung LCD’s for mega dual screen goodness!
The dual coreness is awesome because now when shit explodes I don’t even care! What? Outlook has taken out an entire processor because it is a piece of shite written by the MS Work Experience Dept? I didn’t even notice! Sweet!
The 2GB of RAM is awesome because, dude, it’s 2GB of RAM! Sweet!
The 2 mirrored HD’s are awesome because… What’s that you say? My HD has died and lost all the shit on it? (Sure the projects are in Subversion but what about the rest?) Who cares? Just stick another drive in there and let the RAID manager sort it out! Sweet!
Finally the 2 19inch LCDs are awesome because… Well I think you can imagine. Code on one side, apps on the other. Debugging nirvana awaits those who are willing to embrace the dualness of displayness… Sweet!
Did I mention it has a SLI motherboard? Yeah I guess that feature is ok, nothin’ special though…. Haha just kidding, that’s goddamn SWEET!!!
I feel like i’m on the bridge of the Enterprise man………… SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!
…
Nah it’s pretty good aye…
Switching to Dreamhost so never mind the bollocks…
[Update] Ok it’s done. Let me know if it’s faster or slower!
Well we were supposed to go for a 20km walk today as part of our training for the Trailwalker but some stupid mofo biatch has managed to run up the back of our car while we were sitting at the lights and totally bollocks everything up!
We are all ok but I have a feeling my neck is going to be sore tomorrow. The boot of the car is now totally fux0red and I had to tie it closed using one of my shoelaces for the drive back. We have to move next weekend as well so hiring a van or something might be the only logical option now.
Poor Rox, who was driving at the time, is a bit shaky but ok. She’s currently attempting to lodge an insurance claim but it doesn’t seem to be quite as easy as it does in the ads…
Fuckin’ crap drivers!

Just got word that our stickphone product was featured on the Today show this morning!! How cool is that!
Check it out, thats my software running on that thing man!

Just thought I would get that out of the way before I started
Thanks to all of you who have already donated, it’s much appreciated!
Here is the link if you guys want to donate to our team for the Trailwalker. Please donate as much as you can as it’s fully tax deductible and the money will go to a whole lot of poeple who would otherwise have nothing!
It’s easy to ignore all this sort of stuff when you see so much bollocks on TV and your major decision for the day is whether or not to buy the Grande or Venti Frappachino with gold sprinkles on top but unfortunately for a lot of people in the world life pretty much sucks, all of the time. Oxfam is committed to trying to make a better future for these people which sounds clichéd but is in fact awesome.
So go on, donate and help out today!!
Whoooooooo! Tell your friends!! Ash is gonna murder his legs for charity!

Hey guys, long time no post!
I have been meaning to write a post about the Trailwalker for ages and now finally, after the 13 planets have come into alignment… I am!
First off, in case you don’t have a clue what the Oxfam Trailwalker is exactly, let me esplain (sp)…
First, imagine the Nike 10km run.
Then multiply it by 10.
Then walk it in under 40 hours.
Then you have what Rox and I and the rest of Team Wedgie are going to attempt in early April. A trek that begins in Jells Park Conference Centre, Wheelers Hill and ends on the summit of Mt Donna Buang. 100km of hell in under 2 days and IT ENDS ON THE TOP OF A FREAKIN MOUNTAIN!!!

Seriously dudes and dudettes, I feel like i’m having a bit of Rumsfeld moment here…
“Reports that say that something hasn’t happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”
In my case I know that this is going to be hell but the unknown unknown is exactly how much hell it will be exactly. I have a feeling I don’t know exactly how much I don’t know how bad it’s gonna be. Or something.
Nah it should be ok as long as we prepare. Which is why both started Bootcamp last week and why we were doing sit-ups in the Botanical Gardens at 6:10am this morning! It’s tough but, actually, after being a slack bastard for so long it’s great to be getting active again.
I just have to avoid exploding my knees before the big day and all will be good. I hope!
