Tunage 0
Ok some of my tunes are now available from the Music page. Enjoy!
(hopefully
)
Whooooooo! Finished the initial version of the new site!
Everything is pretty much working except the music files have not yet been uploaded. The photos are currently working but are not integrated and the current lot are crappy or old. Rox and I are going through the Thailand photos now to work out which are worth uploading.
Let me know if anything is broken!
[update]
Also the font I am using to do the flash headings with doesn’t contain much punctuation so I might have to switch unfortunately.
Yeah we are back, the holiday was great and Rox had already planned the next one
I have started to get into Ajax like every other mofo on the planet so you can expect some Xajax powered monstrosity to replace the current pile of bollocks I have here at some point in the future
But I am le tired. (The end of the world flash movie… Never mind)
No the title isn’t referring to the aftermath of my latest drunken episode. In fact it is the name of the islands that we are currently staying on (and funnily enough we have only gotten pissed a couple of times during the whole trip!). I assume that most of you already know about Phuket, the tropical island paradise on the coast of the Andaman. Well at least if you are European you should. Our resort seems to feature an unusually large number of Swedes and Germans and I now know how to say ‘Aiiie my sunburn!’ in over 5 West European languages! (To say it in swedish just say it in english but backwards. And add a couple of ‘Borks’ in there for good measure)
Phi Phi island is a smaller island off the coast of Phuket. It was totally decimated by the Boxing Day Tsunami and is still recovering today. Yesterday we took a boat from Phuket to Phi Phi and stayed over night at the Phi Phi Island Villiage, a resort on the other side of the island from where the tsunami hit. This morning we went and had a look at the Broadbridge Education Centre, a small school set up by Trisha Broadbridge using funds from a trust that was set up in her husbands name after he died in the tsunami. The beach is so flat you can walk out for about 400 meters and it is still only up to your knees so it is easy to see how a freak massive wave could totally destroy everything in sight.
In Phuket we have been staying at the Katathani resort down the bottom of the island. It is totally awesome with 7 pools and a really nice beach. The people here are also really nice and not just because its a 4.5 star resort. Even when lost in Bangkok people have been more than happy to help us find our way to where ever we were going. It’s a marked difference from Egypt where every man and his camel was hell bent on ripping us off and steering us towards his cousins papyrus shop! Occasionally I feel bad that I haven’t learnt any Thai this trip but a couple of cocktails later while relaxing by the pool and i’m over it.
Funnily enough even though I have nothing to do but eat, drink and generally laze around my brain still won’t shut off. The other day Rox and I both had a full body massage in the spa at the resort and the only thing I could think of the whole time was the new features and functionality we have planned for Firefly! Now all I have to do is keep all of the great ideas I have been having in my head until I can get them down. I could buy a pen and paper and start jotting but that sounds too much like hard work…
I think I might just have another drink and then go for a swim.
Whooooo!!
Sorry about not posting about the Trailwalker! It was totally mental in the end due to it raining like a bastard the whole time. Hardly anyone ended up getting the mountain in the end, cept for the Gherkas!
Anyway I’ll write about that later, currently Rox and I are in the Bangkok airport waiting for our plane to Phuket. We have been in Thailand since Friday and so far its been hectic but good. Bangkok is mental but i’m sure everyone knows that. I haven’t seen Leonardo DeCaprio yet but I’ll keep an eye out when we get to Phi Phi island (where they shot The Beach). Anyway. I better go, people are itching to use the internet!!
see ya!

Oxfam Trailwalker starts tomorrow!
You can track our progress by typing in ‘Team Wedgie’ on the site below.
Wish me luck!

D-Day is fast approaching like an oncoming car manned by post-clubbing candy kids, wired from a night out with nothing to look forward except freaking out the other freaks in the all-night Coles with their electro flourescent camo tiger strips and flashing sound reactive LED displays. There is no chance of it stopping in time even if the driver could see anything through the early morning haze of broken dreams and unfulfilled promised. The people involved won’t even notice what is happening until it is far too late and they are brought suddenly back to reality by the loud bump and the shuddering jolt as they run over a poor hapless pedestrian caught like a rabbit in the headlights of their madness and the screaming goes on forever and ever and then suddenly there is darkness and all is quiet.
Hahahah.
April Fools!! This is not actually Live Journal or Myspace! My nick isn’t actually ANGST_KITN1998, byline “I walk alone with the knife of loneliness because you can’t see me”. This post is actually about the Oxfam Trailwalker!
The Trailwalker is on Friday man!! WTF??! I’m a bit nervous now as it is probably going to rain but I am still quietly confident that we will be able to do it ok. I mean, if the older people at the meetings can do it then surely a spritely young lad such as myself should have no problem. I mean, surely?
Gulp.
