I’m off to Indo tomorrow to see my brother and mum. Starehe (my brother) is moving overseas with his girlfriend Aleesha so we are all meeting up for a ho-down in lovely Lombok.
I am taking a telescope with me this time because the night sky is so clear there its unbelievable. Not looking forward to trying to get it through customs though!

I thought I had better post something about what I am actually doing as I actually have something worthwhile to post for a change. Well first I want to redo the site (again). I don’t know about you but I find the current theme really hard to read. I am almost thinking of chickening out and using something prepackaged. Well at least until I get the time to cook up another heap of crap.
But the main thing is that the Great Wheel Of Interest has swung full circle and I am back into electronics again! And the great thing is that this time I am actually doing stuff instead of just thinking and talking about it like I always seem to do.
My project is a bluetooth enabled 16×16 RGB LED remote display for the computer. It will take updates from a server on the computer and display whatever I want on an awesome retro LED display. I already have most of the parts (microcontroller and first 8×8 LED matrix panel) and the rest (bluetooth module and other 3 panels) have been ordered and should arrive this week. I would post a pic of all of the preparatory mini-projects I have been working on to make sure its gonna work but Rox is going to Malaysia for week tomorrow and has already packed the camera (and I can’t be bothered finding it right now)(or powering up mine for that matter).
Anyway its going well and its the closest I have ever come to finishing a complex electronic project in ages. I have been working crazy hours for what seems like forever now and when I get home the only thing I feel like doing is eating and playing UT. I’m trying to get this proj sorted ASAP before the demons of apathy come and infect me with cantbebothereditis.
I’ll post some pics soon (i hope). Hope all of you guys are doing great around the world! I would write you all emails but I can’t be bothered so just know that I think of you and the good times we shared often and you will always be in my heart.
