Fucking Software 5

First off apologies to anyone who doesn’t understand that swearing is an essential tool in the armoury of the writer (or is that only bad writers?) Think of it as a kind of post modern ironic exclamation mark. I mean, we don’t think Spanish is a weird language because they put an upside down question mark at the start of questions do we? (Actually I think that is really weird but I couldn’t think of anything else.)

I have had the most frustrating day in my life as every single piece of software I own tries to send me insane by failing in really subtle ways. Usually I wouldn’t give a crap but sweet zombie moses today nearly made me cry like a baby girl after jesus and santa claus has just killed a kitten in front of me. It was THAT BAD.

The coffee I had coupled with the lack of sleep may also have contributed but I swear it was mostly the software’s fault.

It’s strange but the only thing that hasn’t failed so far is the copy of Vista that I installed yesterday. In fact I am writing this post in it right now (Hooray, teh inarweb works in Micro$$0pht Vista!!! W0w!).

Um…. In case you haven’t guessed by now, I am only writing this because I am waiting for the latest Battlefield 2 patch to download (What do you mean I am addicted???????!?!??!??!?!?@@2 twitches).

It’s finished downloading so now I must once again go and single handedly save the planet from George W Bush! Your laser guided M1A1000 battle tank is no match for my hastily improvised wire guided mobile goat launcher!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!!

(I’ll be back when the update f’s up my s’ which it inevitably will)

Legos 1

Some insane brain unit left a link in one of the comments on a previous post to a Lego vibrator. After viewing the video (What do you mean you wouldn’t have looked?) I suddenly have a great fear of Lego. And vibrators. And Lego vibrators…

…And the mother frackin’ Battlefield 2 installer I am waiting for…. AGAIN!!!!!! AARRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGRRAAAAAAA!

My dream for this journal would be to start posting regularly again. But that will not happen because although my brain is chock full of shit that I would love to tell you all about in some sort of innovative (If I had invented it in 1734) ’stream-of-conciousness’ format I am actually really lazy and quite bad at punctuation;

Actually… (Man this installation is taking for-ev-er)… that reminds me of something!

(I’ll tell you later. It’s finally finished and I now need to take part in a thinly veiled training exercise for the coming Apocalypse (not at all related to the latest Mel ‘SugarTits’ Gibson movie at all - possibly slightly related to his last cinematic outing however. It always is…..! (sad face))

Update: My modem lost sync again when i tried to post this… Hahahahahahahahaha fuck. I’m with Internode as well who are most 3lite ISP this side of Ultra 1337 ISP Corp. Damn.

Vindows Wista 3

I installed Vista tonight on a spare drive and now I have a tent in my pants. Is that normal?

No seriously it is pretty cool. Everything is shiny and seemed to work (except when it didn’t). Transparency ahoy! It was like the UI was designed by me. Which is how it should be.

The only problem is that I was so excited by something actually working on a computer for once that I then immediately tried to run Battlefield 2 on it.

It ran as welll as Battlefield 2 runs on XP - Which means it managed to somehow tell my ADSL router to lose sync every 5 seconds.

EA = Extreme Agony as far as I am concerned. That said I am still going to buy Battlefield 2142 the microsecond it it available because I am a whinging hippocrite with no will power and too much disposable income (> $5).

Send me the Beta Leigh!! I wanna play that shit, like, I dunno, a lot :)

K IS FOR KOMPRESSOR 1

In other news, Kompressor does not dance….

Bro UK 2

Well my bro is in London now and has managed to find a house in Willesden Green!!

It’s strange because that’s where our mum used to live and that’s where our friends just moved to as well. And also because….! Ok I got nothin’….

He managed to go to Fabric within a week of arriving to see Andy C, Fresh and probably about 12 other massive Deejayz so his priorities are definitely in the correct order. Lucky sod! :)

Steve Irwin is dead! He was stung in the chest by a sting ray!

Man, that sucks. He was an embarrasing mental unit and you knew it had to happen someday but still he seemed like a good bloke overall and he did a lot for conservation in Australia.

Before I flew out to Indo I watched a bit of his documentary in a travel shop. Now a week later he is dead!

Note to self: Don’t watch any more David Attenborough documentaries.

In less sad news: In Las Vegas you can be anyone!
